The Obama Tax Hike (Obamanomics, A Recipe For Recession)

Obamanomics Is a Recipe for Recession - WSJ.com

Wow, Obama wants me to pay 20% more in taxes than I already do? Watch Asia and expanding Asian markets continue to prosper as they will be attracting the brightest and the best economic minds and entrepreneurs on the planet. Time to get pick up a Rosetta Stone Mandarin I guess. The cost of living in America might finally not be worth it.

You know how the bible says "the meek shall inherit the earth?" That's because the strong will have left the leeches behind. What oh what will these people do to survive in 3rd World Amerika?

Obviously I was being sarcastic and ironic, but I just thought I had better point that out for some of our less astute members who have reading comprehension problems like I witnessed earlier today.

lol ok, I notice you edited your OP.
Anyway, if your style of economic policy is superior, why is it that there are so many people who do not believe in it?

Obama is a "academic" Liberal, the kind of progressive intellectual that
has spent far more time theorizing what might be a "just" social structure
than actually participating as an individual in an economy.

American academic Liberals like Obama have been dry humping the grand
intentions of socialism for decades and it seems to have instilled in them a
sense that government taxation is not a debt to a taxpayers interests,
but rather an inherent right of government as some sort of parent to the
people to redistribute wealth as they see fit.

Because they are addicted to the handouts. Take away handouts, and I think most people are libertarians. But once people get addicted, it's hard to turn back.

I would say Obama knows full well the problems of socialism (massively powerful corrupt government by necessity and decreased production) but he just doesn't care. He is a politician and he'll do what it takes to get elected. Hey, the fact is only a few people make the money Obama is talking about. Because of our mob rule system they already pay most of the tax. And because they are a minority, they are an easy target. The wealthy are the scapegoat to Obama just as the Jews were Hitler's scapegoat.

According to you, how many people (in %) receive more handouts than what they pay in taxes?
    Because:
    - those handouts have to come from somewhere, ie you have to have a lot more people paying taxes than people living on welfare (there are 11% americans without a job, so I guess that makes roughly 89% people paying more taxes than what they receive in handouts)
    - you'll never have a candidate elected if his program only appeals to 11% of the population
So I don't get your point, you seem to imply a majority of Americans receive more money from the govt than what they pay in taxes, and so live on the money of a small rich elite.

in any system of taxation, some will pay more and some will pay less.
doesn't it make sense that those who benefit more from the overall system of taxation should pay more?

Re: The Obama Tax Hike (Obamanomics, A Recipe For Recession)

Below is the real tax info regarding Obama vs McCain's tax policies:

from here How McCain and Obama will change your tax bill - Jun. 11, 2008

McCain: The average taxpayer in every income group would see a lower tax bill, but high-income taxpayers would benefit more than everyone else. (my emphasis....So the super rich just keep getting richer...Sure sounds like Bush, doesn't it?))

Obama: High-income taxpayers would pay more in taxes, while everyone else's tax bill would be reduced. Those who benefit the most - in terms of reducing their taxes as a percentage of after-tax income - are in the lowest income groups. (again, my emphasis)

    Here's the chart:

    BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
Here's how the average tax bill could change in 2009 if either John McCain's or Barack Obama's tax proposals were fully in place.
    MCCAIN OBAMA
Income Avg. tax bill Avg. tax bill
    Over $2.9M -$269,364 +$701,885
    $603K and up -$45,361 +$115,974
    $227K-$603K -$7,871 +$12
    $161K-$227K -$4,380 -$2,789
    $112K-$161K -$2,614 -$2,204
    $66K-$112K -$1,009 -$1,290
    $38K-$66K -$319 -$1,042
    $19K-$38K -$113 -$892
    Under $19K -$19 -$567

Example from above table: If you look at someone earning between $38K-$66K....They will save three times more under Obama ($-1,042) than under McCain.($-319)

Then look at those earning between $227K-$603K......Under Obama they would pay $12.00 more in taxes....Under McCain they would save $4,380 in taxes!! (& of course the rest of us would have to take up the slack, right? )

Right there is all the reason you need to vote Democratic this year!!
