The staits of hormuz are only 21 miles wide at it's narrowest. The Iranians have in the past attacked tankers traversing the straights. If they do this they can cause a major interruption for many countries that depend on free commerce of these waters. The Iranians recently installed a missile system right at these straits. The Navy must be ready for anything. I would be angry if they were not practicing for these scenarios.

What part do you not get, they were going to fire on US warships. The Navy Seals were going to shoot real live ammunition at US warships. I can not make it more clear.

I too would be specious of this if this exact same scenario hadn't played out earlier this year with the American destroyers and Iranian speedboats.

Video of Iran ‘attack’ on three US warships released by Pentagon - Times Online

Note: I love how the article calls the 'attacking' crafts GUNSHIPS, when they are clearly commercial speedboats.

OMFG IRAN IS COMING FOR YOU AMERICA
    PEW PEW PEW
You are way wrong here. They do this kind of thing all of the time. They build all kinds of replica things for training.

Is that somehow strange to you? Chenney would certainly be briefed on what the military was training on and or considering training on. This is another trumped up thing weighed against Chenney lie so many others.
Who the fuck is this Chenney guy and why would the military be practicing a war scenario and/or dress rehearsal in the exact same place (hormuz) where the actual events would occur. Now that is not only strange, but that would be stupid. No the US is trying to start a war by antagonizing the Iranians.

He would undoubtedly defend it as a patriotic attempt at "Population Pruning" to benefit his fellow Americans by "Increasing the food supply." (he would, of course be wearing an American Flag lapel pin at the time)

They don't "train" with live rounds.

And why does it bother you so that the Iranians believe they have a right to defend their nation?

Do you believe that Iran has the right to defend itself?

If some nation was patrolling just outside of our waters, using "mock vehicles" that resembled our own, would you say "no big deal, they are just training." ?
