Thread: Suicide Bombers

There have been a rash of suicide bombings By terrorists in Iraq and in Afganistan. I am concerned. I think that all of this talk of time lines for troop withdrawals my be affecting this activity. It is very likely that the very desperate and failing Al Qaeida my think that suicide bombings will encourage the American public to push for earlier withdrawals. Before all of this time line stuff, I think the terrorists were pulling back on this kind of activity.

So is the solution to stop talking about withdrawing and just get on with it?

That sounds like an ideologicaly motivated theory.

I am very disturbed by the suicide bombings as well, so I think the right thing to do is to move up the (currently non-existent) timeline for withdrawal to get Americans out of harm's way ASAP. Any other course of action would be irresponsible.

Well Bush had removed the surge troops and more were in the works to be removed already. But I think making it a debated issue as part of a campaign and to have the media petition for it so is not smart.

There was this little dirty war about 230 years where one army would line up in neat little lines and the other army would use guerilla tactics and blow up bridges.. The army which lined up in neat lines complained the use of unfair tactics..

Correct, politicians should cut the crap and start implementing immediate withdrawal of all U.S. troops. The political games have got to stop.

I totally disagree with you. This war will be a success. The Iraqis are doing very well. To just simply remove troops willy nilly is just plain not smart. The actions of troop removal should and must be measured and gauged so that we do not remove too many too soon. I want success in this not some stupid emotional response that throws away our troops good efforts.

I'd sue.
