    Google Shuts Down Anti-Obama Sites

I do not know whether this has come to the attention of the public or not, but I heard this on the radio and pursued it on google's own search engine to verify it. This is dated June 29th, so it's a little old, but not that old.

This source was found with great difficulty, as I had to specifically search the title of the article to get it to show up. Otherwise, I would get a top ten that consisted of pro-Obama sites and campaign advertisements.

It looks like Google has officially joined the Barack Obama campaign and decided that its contribution would be to shut down any blog on the Google owned Blogspot.com blogging system that has an anti-Obama message. Yes, it sure seems that Google has begun to go through its many thousands of blogs to lock out the owners of anti-Obama blogs so that the noObama message is effectively squelched. Thus far, Google has terminated the access by blog owners to 7 such sites and the list may be growing. Boy, it must be nice for Barack Obama to have an ally powerful enough to silence his opponents like that!

It isn't just conservative sites that Google's Blogger platform is eliminating. For instance, www.comealongway.blogspot.com has been frozen and this one is a Hillary supporting site. The operator of Come a Long Way has a mirror site off the Blogspot platform and has today posted this notice:
I used to have a happy internet home on Blogger: Come A Long Way . . .. Then on Wednesday night, June 25, I received the following e-mail:
    Dear Blogger user,
This is a message from the Blogger team.
Your blog, at Come A Long Way . . ., has been identified as a potential spam blog. You will not be able to publish posts to your blog until we review your site and confirm that it is not a spam blog.
    Sincerely,
    The Blogger Team
It turns out that there is an interesting pattern where it concerns the blogs that Google's Blogspot team have summarily locked down on their service. They all belong to the Just Say No Deal coalition, a group of blogs that are standing against the Obama campaign. It seems the largest portion of these blogs are Hillary supporting blogs, too.
All I can say is, WOW! If Google is willing to abuse its power like this even against fellow leftists, what does it plan against conservatives, the folks Google hates even more!?
Here is a list of the Blogspot blogs that have been frozen by Google thus far:

Is this ridiculous or what? A search engine, depended upon for research and fact-finding has become politicized.

Is Google entitled to do this? Yes, it's their search engine, and they can do what they want. But is it dishonest, and quite frankly, cowardly? Yes it is.

I'm not calling for action against Google, but I'd thought I would point this out seeing how Google is the most popular search engine on the web.

Well, technically they didn't target these sites because of Obama, it was because of spam. From what I've read on more than half of the blogs listed, they have been restored and are still posting.

This also wasn't by the developers of Google's search engine (a very small fraction of what Google really is) this was from Blogger's dev team tracking spam from one or more of those sites.

Either way its going to take a little more than this to show that Google is biased towards these bloggers.

Lol. Yeah, targeted for spam, so they say. I doubt it's a mere coincidence that they shut down blogs that were ALL from the "Just Say No" coalition, which is a collection of Clinton supporters and everyone else who doesn't want Obama in the WH.

Will it take more proof to prove Google's bias? Probably, but I think this was no accident, and like I said, it's an older article, so Google has had ample time to restore the sites and cover up the mess when the story broke out.

BTW, you're the only one that replied to one of the two threads I posted last night.

    Congratualations!

    LOL

A search engine is not the entity of the government and you are not required to use it. Don't like it? Head back to the stone age and use Yahoo.

Oh come on, TFM. I specifically said that Google can do what they want, but I'm free to criticize them for favoring Obama in what should be a simple, fact-finding engine. It is particularly frustrating to go on the internet to escape the bias of the MSM only to find out that even Google is agenda driven. I made my point by posting this thread, and pointing out the bias that is evident even in Google.

I will continue to use it, but when I search political issues I'm going to take a grain of salt with their top searches.

I am not too concerned about 7 sites being shutdown. Whhoo SEVEN!

But after some research I did discover that google is not unbiased. I tried to have yahoo as my main search engine for awhile but with all the garbage they put on their page it takes too long to load.

I had forgotten about altavista so I am going to try it again for awhile. If for not other reason than that I don't like to see one guy get too big.

I never used yahoo - but I expect they are pretty biased. I am tired of google peddling Obama action dolls - err figures at me for $1 each LOL.
