So I was watching CSPAN... *puking*

Ok so before I went out for the day I watched 40 minutes of CSPAN. The Senate was supposed to be discussing Flood Insurance bill proposals. Instead they were all discussing Oil and gas prices. I'm not opposed to the discussion in fact I find that more constructive then Flood Insurance. Most Resucklicans had a drill now everywhere hard on and all the Dumbocrats were like "the oil companies have 68 million acres and 10,000 leases to drill that they have not used". Now granted there were some who wanted to appear like they were being bipartisan but most kept quoting past opposing party legislation and all of this shit is so dumb. They must have been passing legislation for the past 20 years that has not worked and even the names of the bills would have clued me in that they would not have worked. There were two Dumbocrats that kept saying "It's not our fault.. We have been doing everything we can!. It's speculators!" Bart Stupak from my lovely one state recession headquarters of Michigan pulled out a news paper and said "see oil prices went down over the past 7 days". I can't believe that these morons are even allowed to operate motor vehicles let alone pass legislation for our country. What is so wrong with simple Government with simple rules and less weaving of legislative bullshit that entangles us even further.? What is wrong with accountability and most especially what is wrong with the voters for picking these clowns?. If oil companies only take in %4 after all the scavangers have picked all the meat off the bones and they are passing the buck I don't blame them. No company on earth should only take %4 profits. What is wrong with rewarding Utilities with Mega tax brakes if they don't gouge us and provide solid work for the american people? Why not drill here and conserve energy as well as inventing new technologies that are cleaner/cheaper to impliment? Nancy Pelosi wants to introduce %10 percent of our 700 million barrels of oil reserve into the world market, I'm ok with it but what do we replace it with? Establishing Speculators here would help as well all the forigeners want our money and this is how they are helping to get it. It seems that Taxing the Big Evil Corporations has not helped do anything but outsource our money. I hate the corporate greed going on but I'm pretty sure that Making it less poisonous in america to set up shop if you take care of your emlployees and country would help create more jobs and energy. Oh and some douchebag from NY said what would Roosevelt do?.. I'm pretty sure he would seize our gold and establish welfare. Oh wait he already did. :flickoff:

Doctored books on everything so the economic numbers look good have left Washington nearly irrelevant. Oil wells everywhere will happen.

I agree that partisanship over this issue has just made it worse. I think the vast majority of Americans would like to see a multi-pronged approach to the energy problem and yes, the democrats have failed miserably, Nancy Pelosi is at best, ineffective. But the Republicans had the house, Senate and executive branch for 6 years, and no new drilling or oil refineries. :dunno: What the fuck were they doing all that time?

We've to two oil industry men in the white house. Did they not see this coming? I'm getting sick of the right whining because they made all these messes, and the left hasn't cleaned them up yet.

They have all fucked it up. This is a Congress created problem so the next election that comes up they can have arguing points. I think many of the republicans are in bed with the oil companies but since the Dems took the majority of the seats they have through legislation, punished anyone who makes any money they concider to be too much. Al Gore has places that we can send money to erase our Carbon Footprint, is this some kind of joke?. I wonder how much he skims off the top and claims operating costs? I investigated this and all these places are either charities or green tech companies that end up with a small percent of what actually gets donated. This is either a free market or it's not. America has jumped in a relatively short time in front of other countries as a super power because we let people become part of the American Dream without punishing them after they make it. The more complex the government the more wages have continued to drop. 40 years ago a job at a market would put a roof over your head, food on your table and gas in your car. Now the Master/Servant divide is growing because it is too hard to keep paying Americans the middle class income/benefits and pay uncle sam half your earnings. It is clear that our elected officials have woven a regulatory Web to keep themselves busy for years to come. I don't see americans doing much to combat this because of all the distractions given us in the form of smutty brainwashing and alcohol to keep us from paying any attention to what is really going on.
