Thread: Graveyards: A waste of land and time?

Is there really a point to burying people? It's a waste of land, That land could be used for a lot of other things. I just don't see the point. I mean, it gives some temporary solace to the relatives of a dead loved one, but if you think about it, it's a quite primitive ritual. Returning people to the earth. It's a largley symbolic act, and doesn't bring any real benefit to anyone.

The dead need their resting place. If you don't think it brings any benefit to anyone, then don't do it. Problem solved.

And maybe they could've used this land but it's taken up by a bunch of rocks ontop of a plot of dirt.

It's a waste of perfectly good land that could've been used for something productive.

Last I checked there are plenty of people willing to pay thousands of dollars on land in which to bury their loved ones. How exactly do you plan on circumventing the market to bring about your vision?

I didn't say anything about outlawing it. I wish people didn't WANT to bury their loved ones. It's a stupid custom that originated from a time when we were spear-wielding tribals running around. People don't even know why they do it, they just know that it's what's always been done. It's a tradition that noone knows the point of.
