Dem Convention Protestors Behind the Fence

DNC protests will be behind fence

"The fence around the public demonstration zone outside the Democratic National Convention will be chicken wire or chain link, authorities revealed in U.S. District Court today. That may allow protestors to be seen and heard by delegates going in and out of the Pepsi Center during the convention.
But the American Civil Liberties Union and several advocacy groups have filed an amended complaint to their lawsuit against the U.S. Secret Service and the city and county of Denver that says protestors and demonstrators may have their First Amendment rights violated by security restrictions."

DNC protests will be behind fence - The Denver Post

    Some stipulations.

The First Amendment protects you from the government restricting your speech.

Political parties are not government, they are private entities.

Your rights cannot and do not supersede someones else's rights.

So what "rights" do protesters have and where do they end?

Do they have a right to disrupt the convention in any way shape or manner?
Do they have a right to interfer with and to prevent citizens from engaging in their private lawful business such as blocking access.
Do they have a right to be heard at the convention AT ALL?

Do they really do any good their for respective causes at all with this nonsense?

Why don't they work within the system, work at the local level, get elected to office, get selected to go as a delegate, work in a campaign rather than the silly nonsense they engage in?

The DNC remembers Chicago in '68 & it scares the beegeezuz out of them.
You're right though, no matter how important the DNC believes thay are, they are not THE gov't.
I don't think the protesters have the right to disrupt "in any way shape or manner", no violence. Screamin & shoutin, you bet'cha.

I completely respect their right to protest and think that people should protest if that is what they want to do, but in many ways you're completely right. America has somewhat turned into a commentator society where the bulk of people would rather sit back comment or complain about the situation going on... but they also draw the line at actually doing something about it.

The Democrap party is half of the Government Party. It merits no rights that a private entity enjoys.

They all have those rights and more. The Democraps and Repugnicans are the government.

Chicken wire or chain link fence? I think it is more apt to be razor wire.

Well in fact it does as it is a private organization.

How about the protesters giving up their disruptive and obstructive behavior and do away with trying to interfere with the lawful private business of the organization that is holding a meeting?

You Republicans are so uptight, you love your rules so and fear life so without them. But I guess all your rules help you to oppress and criticize people so thats cool I guess.

Now you're focusing on the Democrats rules because you just can't get enough of rules on your side of the street. I hope there are crazy protestors from all over the country, behind fences, in cars, on rooftops, throwing dangerous objects at the media. I mean thats what the conservative media wants. In thier idiocy they think that a riot at the DNC is a bad thing for the Democrats, it's what we call fun and will still be united anyway afterwards. It's actually good for Billy, Karl, Shawn, Laura, Rush, and the rest of the state run media too. Let me explain, because if Republicans did that rioting at the RNC there would be gunplay from all those guns they cling to in church, and it would be a bloodbath, which explains why they think Iraq would be a bloodbath if we left, but thats another subject, sorry. Conservatives go straight for the M-16 and Liberals knock each other around with thier Birkenstocks.

So you guys go on playing the "cultivate Liberal disunity" card. It your only hope. The real damage to Conservatives in this election is not wether or not McCain or Obama wins, it's how many congressional and senate seats you will loose. Even Conservatives are worried about that, so to keep you busy they have you worried about The DNC. Must suck being lead around by a master/rove plan, worse yet, and not know it.

But I love every one of you I think you're all adorable.
