June 6 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush said the administration is seeing signs that the economic stimulus is beginning to work and urged Congress to make permanent his tax cuts.

Hey Bush, the feds bailed out the market yesterday, I guess the motor on the money machine broke down because today the dow closed around -394 points. so what is the problem? He needs to tie it to the tax breaks they need to be permanent. I would think with the anointing of the magic candidate ready to solve the country's and world's problems that alone would cause the turn around.I was not aware that Bush was driving up oil prices.

I'm all for permanent tax breaks, but I honestly do not believe they will be, no matter who gets in the WH.
The $ is squat, the oil is now almost $140 a barrell, debt is out of control & the only way a dem can see to fix that is raise taxes & then spend even more & that won't fix anything. Even if Mccain says he wants tax cuts permanent, I don't believe it. He'll "reach across the aisle" & it'll be "you scratch my back & I'll scratch yours".

The tax cuts allowed for jobs to be off shored, why would anyone want that?

If the economy is doing so well why did they annonuce just today that unemployment is at 5.5%, the highest rate since 1986. If anyone doubts that we're in a recession, doubt not longer.
