GOP Senator Mitch McConnell admitted that he did not read the healthcare bill after accusing and criticizing Democrats for not reading the bill. I have wanted a journalist to ask this question of Republicans for a very long time. Republicans have repeatedly criticized Democrats for not reading bills. Neither Republicans or Democrats read the entire bills. They have their staff do it. The fact that the Republicans have made this a viable talking point is completely ridiculous, especially when a finished bill has not yet been completed.

Well, to be fair to both sides, nobody can expect each senator to read this entire thing and understand it. That speaks more to how poorly written most bills are than to laziness.

    I feel quite the opposite.

I EXPECT my elected representatives to read EACH AND EVERY WORD of that bill.

And not only that - if there are any last-minute changes, I expect them to

BLOCK THE BILL until they have had time to read them and digest them.

I expect them to UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY'RE SIGNING OFF ON!!!

That's what I pay 'em for!

And I won't tolerate disregard or ignorance in this area!

If they won't read the bill, I say FIRE THEM - remove them from office.

What the hey - HOW can they be my "representative" if they don't even

know what the heck they're representing me on?
