This might not help the Hillary-for-veep chatter... The New York Post writes, "Hillary Clinton today brought up the assassination of Sen. Robert Kennedy while defending her decision to stay in the race against Barack Obama. 'My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't understand it,' she said, dismissing calls to drop out."

Not to minimize this but her implication was that "something" cataclysmic could happen this late in the process and she would be the logical choice at that point. Its a gaffe on her part, considering that the nomination is locked up or all but, I don't know how significant it is. She and Barack need to be seen kissing in public yet, so we can move forward into the fall. Olbermann is making a bigger deal of this right now than I think it is. Thats okay though, Keith is still the man.

Or she has something on Obama.

Pretty much kills her being VP, he may have to fear for his life if he picked her.

I dont think she had a shot at VP in the first place.


I truly she she believes she may still be able to pull this one off, and I think this very careless statement says just that.

I really dont think now that she meant any true harm by it. I think this is just a true put foot in mouth type of thing.

But damn...you know in a couple weeks it will be the 40th anniversary of the murder of Bobby Kennedy. If she pulled out now, and something did happen to Obama...wouldnt she then get the nomination anyway ?

Weird! Just as I pulled up this thread to read it, the 7PM news on the radio came on and it was the lead story. They played that exact quote from Hillary.

What the fuck is she hinting at?

I said in another thread, don't be surprised if the Clinton thugs have him bumped off.

I haven't heard the tape, but from reading this it just looks like she's trying to say previous campaigns came down to the wire. That was simply an unfortunate reference on her part to evoke the assassination of Robert Kennedy.
