I was listening to Public Radio this morning on the way to work. There was a story on a young man who died recently due to what his mother, Joan McDonald, believe were a result of the Iraqi War and he should be labeled as a casualty of war. Why the big deal you ask? Well Sgt James McDonald was found dead six months later with blood coming out his ears and nose.
The Army ruled out suicide and accidental death, but will not classify it as casuallty of war because of the length between death and actual combat. Also the autopsy was inconclusive.
I bring this up because I think people should never forget the trauma both physically and mentally, George Bush's illegal war has caused to innocent families and their loved ones throughout this country.
Here's the link, but I don't want to hear the excuse that they knew what could happen when they signed up for military duty. That's fine, but when it involves an illegal war the tone of the discussion should take on a whole different hue.
