Thread: McCain's bright future: "spasmodic and much reduced"!

Well, you can't fault the old codger for thinking too big. But this reminds me of the old "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-in" when they did "News of the Future."

So, McCain promises to capture or kill Bin Laden in five years? Well, that IS more than Bush promised and more than Bush delivered.

Still...maybe McCains new slogan should be, "It'll be okay."

"By January 2013, America has welcomed home most of the servicemen and women who have sacrificed terribly so that America might be secure in her freedom.


"The Iraq War has been won. Iraq is a functioning democracy, although still suffering from the lingering effects of decades of tyranny and centuries of sectarian tension," McCain said.


The violence in Iraq will persist, the candidate believes, but it will be "spasmodic and much reduced." But civil war will be prevented, armed militias will be disbanded, security forces will become "professional and competent" and the government will be able to impose "its authority in every province of Iraq" and properly defend its borders.

McCain can only do what congress allows, for the most part, & if Mccain is the POTUS & congress remains Dem, nothing but more of the same will happen. "Nattering nabobs of negativity", from all sides.

With McCain's "inspiring and dynamic" presence in the press, I'm beginning to think he's going to come out in support of Obama any minute.

& that wouldn't surprise me too much either.
