Weapons Were Not Made In Iran

"A plan to show some alleged Iranian-supplied explosives to journalists last week in Karbala and then destroy them was cancelled after the United States realized none of them was from Iran. A U.S. military spokesman attributed the confusion to a misunderstanding that emerged after an Iraqi Army general in Karbala erroneously reported the items were of Iranian origin. When U.S. explosives experts went to investigate, they discovered they were not Iranian after all."

This is actually the second time US forces have tried to pull this stunt recently. I remember a similar incident about a year(?) ago. Digging to find that incident as well. This fear mongering over Iran has to stop.

That link says that Iraqi forces reported the weapons to be Iranian, and the US forces corrected the mistake. Doesn't quite match what youre saying here.

Here's the previous incident, dateline Feb 26, 2007:

The U.S. military has said elite Iranian corps are funneling EFPs to Shi'ite militias in Iraq for use against American troops. The area where the cache was found is dominated by Sunni insurgents, but also includes pockets of Shi'ites.
Sophisticated weapons seized in Iraq said to be of Iranian origin - Haaretz - Israel News

Turns out, any causal observer could clearly read the model numbers IN ENGLISH on the side of the supposed Iranian manufactured bombs.
    What say you, warmongers?

I say the only people trying to make something out of this are people like you Ronin.

Just because the weapons recovered didn't say made in Iran doesn't mean the weapons didn't come from Iran.

Are you trying to deny Iran has any involvement with supporting Shite militants in Iraq and lebanon?

Remember seeing "Milk factory" on top of one of the Iraqi buildings that the allied forces bombed in Desert Storm? You do realize that English is a universal language, right?

I'm not denying anything that I have no way of verifying. In reality, there is a possibility that Iran is supporting aggressors in the region. There might even be a good possibility. But the fact that our government sees a need to muddy the waters with their own half assed attempts at forcing the issue by framing them up tells me that the best intelligence apparatus in the world is having trouble making that connection. So I myself am in no rush do to likewise.

That's not what happened. The US government cancelled the dog and pony show when IT discovered that those particular devices could not be solidly linked to Iran.

There's something wrong with your interpreter?

That seems to be a trend.

Ronin... Like a couple of people have pointed out already the way you're telling it is not what happened. It was the US government that identified the mistake and admitted it.

Maybe if some of you liberals were not in such a rush to demonize the US military, and our government we might pay more attention to what some of you are saying. It gets kind of old watching you guys automatically assume the United States is the bad guy.

The article that you link to is extremely biased.

For instance I like how they say Iran "totally refuted" the claims when the article that links to it clearly shows that the "denied" the allegations. There is a world of difference between refuted and denied.....
