This thread is breathtaking hyperbole.

The article attacks Obama for evoking the names of Democratic presidents. Obama said nothing that was "ignorant." The only mistake he made in that speech was a stretch: calling North Carolina a "swing state."

Yeah, you gotta love these threads, right?

The "politics of personal destruction".

People go out looking for something bad to say about the opposition candidate, and like..... this is the best they can come up with!

So, let's see.... Hannity's "top three issues" against Obama are...... people! He's got the Rev. Wright, that guy Ayres, and.... Michelle!!!

That's like, the worstt hing they cam come up with, so far, against Obama, is that a few people with loose tongues seem to like the guy!

I'll tell you what though, if given a choice between someone like Obama, and someone like Hillary or McCain, I'll take Obama. As near as I can tell right now, the guy's no slouch. Sure, he's gonna make a rookie mistake or two, but, he's also got some really good people in his corner.

I would personally worry a great deal more about the ignorance of someone like a McCain, who seems to be only slightly more intelligent than that brainless idiot Bush. And Hillary, doesn't even know how to use the coffee machine at the gas station anymore, she's EVERY BIT as out of touch as McCain is.

Nah, sorry people, I think it's time for a real President again. Someone who will respect the Constitution, unlike this miscreant tyrant we currently have in office. Hillary just wants to wave her magic wand all over it, so in that regard, she's just like Bush. Bush in drag, I say!

And McCain, well, "of course I voted for George Bush! In 2000, and 2004! I campaigned with him, and for him, all over the country! I did everything I could to help him get elected!" Need I say more?

Aye. I know what you mean. I used to think McCain was a reasonable third choice. But he's scared me a lot in the last few months.

I posted this thread to point out how little Obama knows about anything. He is a "show", a production of the media, like Britney Spears or "Friends"

His statements are incredibly ignorant to anyone who has taken a history class.

I don't worry about McCain's anything because he has no chance of becoming president.

Maybe Obama meant to say, meet our enemies without preconditions like FDR, Truman, & kennedy should have. He seems to have listened to wright more than what he has admitted.

And since we're speculating (wildly) maybe he MEANT to sing the Star Spangled Banner while dressed as the statue of liberty.

What was ignorant about a Democrat alluding to previous Democratic presidents? The author simply lists his own judgments of the past Democratic president and claims Obama doesn't know about them. It must have been a slow news day in blogland.

This was a scary speech for conservatives, JFL. In North Carolina, Barack decided to start running for president against McCain and he got his voice back. Now all the right can throw at him is the legacy of great Democratic leaders...and no, that doesn't make much sense.

And I watched the speech with some interest (on TV). What's funny is how quickly the "straight talk express" jumped the tracks after this speech.
