Wright not as bad as Bush

At least according to voter concerns -

Poll: Bush a liability, 'bitter' remark irks voters

NBC/WSJ poll: Bush — not Wright or Bill Clinton — is voters' main concern

WASHINGTON - According to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, Sen. Barack Obama’s ties to his former pastor, Jeremiah Wright, could end up hurting his chances of winning the White House. So could his earlier comment that small-town Americans are “bitter” and cling to guns and religion.
Question have also been raised over Sen. Hillary Clinton’s honesty and trustworthiness, as well as her husband’s possible return to the White House.
But a bigger problem appears to be John McCain's ties to President Bush.
In the survey, 43 percent of registered voters say they have major concerns that McCain is too closely aligned with the current administration.

Sorry about the weird caps - I couldn't format the article properly for some reason. But I think it's interesting that the media spins the Wright issue but the voters think they really don't want Bush Lite!

Well, the difference is that its the Democrats who are voting in the primaries right now. Wright effects how Democrats vote in the primaries, where McCain's connection with Bush will effect how they vote in the general election.

True, and McCains connection with Bush will cost him that election in November.

i mean if we have a gen election of obama/mccain, and they hold national debates, isn't it just going to be jfk/nixon all over again, only MORE so??

i mean whether you agree thats its a good idea or not, i just see obama swaying way more people with the way he talks, than mccain. and likability is a huge factor, its what made bush so popular. people wanted to have a beer with him. do people want to have a beer with mccain? i doubt it. mccain is like your kind crazy war vet grandfather you say hello to, but generally try to avoid.

Which is precisely why McCain will likely lose the general. Iraq will be the killer for McCain, because Americans clearly do not like the thought of 4 more years of the same Iraq policy.

This is probably why Hillary and Obama continue the slugfest. The winner of the Democrat wing of the Republicrat party will likely win no matter how nasty it gets in the primaries, because McCain is sealing his own fate with his "stay the course" in Iraq.
