    Dem Party Chair Represents Democracy?

I don't think so. How can a candidate be forced to drop out of a campaign?
Well, that's what Howard yeeeeeehhhhaaaaawwwww Dean says.

    1) it's a POLITICAL PARTY. It's not the government.

    2) Dean's job is to advance the party for its own best interests. People may or may not agree with his positions but that's his job. And what he's asking, "one must drop out by June" is perfectly reasonable.

    3) This sort of party boss decree happens in all elections at every level. People are regularly encouraged and/or discouraged from running by their parties.

    4) Nothing is stopping either candidate from running third-party.

Couple what Howard Dean is demanding with the undemocratic super delegates & the Dem party is unrecognizeable....or maybe it isn't, maybe it's always been undemocratic.

Course the repubs have strayed far afield too, in fact, I can't tell much difference in the two.

Migi, A political party can run it's Primary any way it decides to. While I can understand how you might think that's unfair for us poor Democrats, I never cease to be amazed at the zeal withwhich Republicans and Conservatives throw themselves into the emotional turmoil that permiates Democratic primary

No, no, I'm not saying they can't, I'm asking if it's democratic. I don't believe it is.
BTW-Your "you might think it's unfair to us poor democrats" is cute, but FYI, I could give a damn about "poor dems or repubs", actually, any political party. I do care about what's happening to this country & thanks mostly to the lying shits that are beholden to a political party over the US!!!

Re: Dem Party Chair Represents Democracy?

The difficulty is that the Democratic party has been in the process of fission since at least 1968. The Republicans have been having problems since at least 1964. Ignoring Libertarian, Constitutionalist and nationalist splits has worked out much better than papering over major differences as the Democrats have done.
