    Out of Control Taxation

I was thinking about it and i feel our forefather are doing backflips in thier graves about how much we are being taxed to death in order to be cared for by the government.

I was wondering if we could get together and figure out all the ways we typically pay tax in a givin lifetime.

    For example:
i lose about 40% of my paycheck to income tax.
I lose 60 cents on every gallon of gas i pump in my locality.
( mind you i believe there was a recent study that showed big oil made billions in profit while states collectivly made trillions in gas tax.. whos flecing who )
I lose 8.25% on sales tax.
Im a smoker so im losing some crazed amount in sin tax.
when my dad passes and leaves me what hes earned and been taxed on already it will be taxed again in the form of a death tax since of course the government is a third party in the seperation of my family.

    anyone else?...

    Re: Out of Control Taxation

The government in this country is simply out of control. No politician is willing
to be responsible for anything, all they do is invent new ways to spend money
they dont have to impress voters.

The only chance we had for sanity was Ron Paul, who has been as careful
as possible to not foolishly spend public funds during his career.

The government is stupid, greedy, and in debt because voters are stupid
greedy, and in debt--and nobody from the bottom to the top is willing to
    take responsibility for anything.

    Re: Out of Control Taxation

Are we being cared for by our government? Who holds the most influence over our elected officals in Washington? Why are billions of our tax dollars going where we know not? Lobbyists, influence peddlers, crooked politicians, immorality, total lack of ethics, and lest us not forget: Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutly. Heard the expression, "Wag the Dog"? Big oil and OPEC want higher profits, no problem, just reduce production, start a panic and you have obscene profits. This country has been being fleeced by the rich and powerful since it's inception. Their greed knows no limits. They know all about misdirection, manipulation, public image, and how to convince you it's your fault. Unless and until we the people take away the strangle hold that corporations/big business have on our government by effecting change through our constitutional rights ie.. voting, pressuring congress, and no longer falling for the lies, we will never have a government that represents us. So let's get busy, shall we?

The country is headed for a crisis because like a mule you have to get DC's attention before it does anything useful.

Nothing like a massive punishing depression to straighten the country out.

I could just see all the little pampered idiots wandering around in the streets
with a dead cell phone and an empty latte wondering what to do, and who's
going to put a cheeseburger in their hand.

It is a terrible reality, but I'm beginning to think that this is the only thing that will save this Republic. It is time to shrug.

Be careful with Rand get Browne's "How I Found Freedom in and Unfree World" he wrote that one before he went off the deepend. If you've got deep pockets Ed Clark's "A New Beginning" while dated and the decimal place its original $1 price has gotten lost is also good. (Already promised my last copy from the 1980 campaign to an LP historian on Myspace, so I can't help you.)

I prefer Nietzsche, Aristotle, and Hume to the lovely Ayn Rand. But Atlas Shrugged will always hold a very romantic place in my heart.
