Thread: Democrat Party Hot Buttons

If you are registered Democrat, why are you supporting Obama over Clinton, or Clinton over Obama? What issues are the most important to you?

Both Clinton and Obama agree on taxes, ending the war in Iraq, health care, education, and regulating the housing market. It seems that there are so few things that Obama and Clinton disagree on that the primaries have become a popularity contest. (This has really hurt Hillary). The issues that people appear most concerned about are who is more likable, charismatic, and exciting.

For me, I am supporting Clinton because of her record of compromise and effectiveness in the Senate. Unlike Obama, Hillary really understands the way government works and can be effective at working with friends and foes. So if something really important comes up and the country needs real leadership, Senator Clinton has the ability to get things done, while Obama will depend heavily on his rhetoric, which may work in liberal circles, but will do nothing to inspire conservatives and libertarians.

I know you're a republican because you use the term "democrat party." It's the democratic party. Better luck next time, publican.
