Obama favors giving driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants. McCain opposes it, and this could give McCain the state. Giving driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants is unpopular in California. Schwarzenegger successfully exploited opposition to such driver’s licenses in both of his elections, and McCain would have a shot at winning California by exploiting it also.

Yes. Fair enough. However, don't forget that John McCain is, well, John McCain! He was one of the biggest advocates for amnesty. Obama can say, "While I can see that McCain is against giving illegal immigrants drivers licenses, he is for making them legal immigrants. Senator McCain, once you make illegals legal, will they be allowed to have driver's licenses?"

I'm sorry, but I see this as a dead issue. We tried to fight it, and we DID win. People knew that McCain was the main one supporting amnesty and the whole country fought against him and his cronies. But somehow McCain's campaign rose from the dead...from being dead to MAIN CANDIDATE. What does that tell you? It tells me WE as a people have no control. We have no say in our country's matters. We are little fucking subjects that will do as Big Brother tells us to do, or else.

It’s been going on for years! Finally someone noticed we have no control. The people who think they do are fooling themselves. They are caught up in the game though. opcorn:

Well, that question is pretty pointless, as illegal immigration laws are geared towards not letting ILLEGAL immigrants have driver's licenses. Once they become citizens, the illegal immigration laws no longer apply to them, and they're free to get a license no matter what any politician thinks.

So sorry, no "gotcha" question there.

History lesson time: In recent time...The only Republican to take California was Reagan in 1984. And Reagan was a former California Governor. The only other state in the Union that went Democrat was Minnesota, a state in which Fritz Mondale was a former Governor too. California will not go Republican, they think all that the negativity against Obama and Hillary has come from racist and sexist plots.

The anti war vote alone will secure California as Democrat. Although I am a Democrat voting for McCain but there are not a lot of me here in beautiful California, which is the top tax revenue generating state in the Union by far.

I live here in California and the only people I hear bitching about illegal imigration is the right wing media, and my 80 year old Dad. I'm only talking about the people around me so I don't want to hear it.

You missed the point. If there are no illegal aliens, because they are all citizens, then who cares if you are for or against licenses for illegals. If you give all those bastards amnesty, then there ARE NO illegals.
