Democracy vs. Republic: Most aren't taught the difference -

Democracy vs. Republic: Most aren't taught the difference -
In this excerpt from a seminar by Martin Red Beckman, the difference between a Democracy and a Constitutional Republic is examined.

Most of us are not taught this difference in school, nor is the type of government envisioned by the founders practiced in the USA.

The rest of the seminar examines more closely the power of the people OVER the government, and how you can exercise that power in the Constitutional Republic.

They will tell you "well it means what we say it means now". Haven't the time to listen to the seminar right now does Mr. Beckman touch on the fact that the founding fathers went so far as to GUARANTY the states that we wouldn't be a Democracy but a Republcian form of government?

I believe that Democracy or "mob rule" won't work as much as Communism will not work. I believe you find a balance between the two like what we have which is technically called a Federal Republic.

The rediculousness of that stupid man and his little chart spewing foundationless misinterpretation without references.....Oh! and that stupid X group......All he did was put 2 rediculous lists side by side, then put us on the bottom of one, and ask us if we want to be there. I give up, respectfulness be damned.

If any of you went to the site and believe that horse hockey.....please...I beg you, read a biography written by a University History Professor or a reputable historian on people like Thomas Paine, John Adams, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Alexander Hamilton...that should be a good start to ending crap like this War On You may have gotten into your head. Also, when you've read most of them you'll realize that the Founding Fathers were going in totaly different directions and had neither the idea of nor the intention of framing anything.

Doesnt surprise me we are moving more towards a Socialist form of Gov. every day.
Whats the point of teaching anything about democracy or a republic form of gov. that may cause people to think.

Socialists dont want you to think for your self.

Its hard to say what 200 year old men would think. Thats their excuse for undermining the constitution in the first place. But I do believe in what he says at least about our times.

I tell people all the time in a democracy the power is with the people. If 30% approve of Bush that means the rest are free to do with him as they please. This is what the republic is scared of. People with power.

Now in Vermont two towns have voted to arrest Bush's gang of freedom robbers. This is the republic form of democracy.

When the leaders refuse subpoenas and arrest you have a POLICE STATE!
