This just in: Iraqi National Government is a paper tiger

    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/29/wo...hp&oref=slogin

It cannot possibly be considered a legitimate government now. The 'Iraqi fight to secure their own borders', as advocated by el heffe Bush, has turned into the Iraqi fight to secure their own borders....except the ones that they cannot secure and leave to the Americans.

I think its apparent that at the first sign of trouble, they do not look inward for leadership, but that they look to America.

The Iraqi National Government is a paper tiger, that in truth is not the Iraqi National Government, but is The American Government of Iraq.

I disagree, but only because of your choice of metaphors. "Paper tiger" implies that the Iraqi government demonstrates an appearance of wielding power, while actually being structurally weak. In this case, the Iraqi government doesn't appear to be any more powerful than it actually is.

    Give it a few years.

    It will get better.

Why is everyone in such a hurry.

It took the U.S. 50 years to prepare the Philippines for self government

A paper tiger is pretty liberal. They have no clue as what to do, and their not supposed to.

Maliki's government is yet another extension of Bush's failed government, and that hard part for me to except is that good men and women died to ensure their emplacement. Shame on Bush and his war mongering supporters.

Maybe it has something to do with the thousands of American soldiers that have died or tens of thousands that have been injured..............or maybe it is the $150 billion a year we are flushing down that hellhole.

No, it simply won't. Militias play too much a part in the life of the average Iraqi, and the government not enough (besides for the fact that the Government's revenue is dependent upon oil, which is another story (oil never has brought physical wealth to people)) for them to cease to exist / be violent, unless there is a structural change in Iraqi society.
