Thread: Why is McCain the best choice for President?

It's clear that many PH members are against somebody. I have to infer that if they're against Obama and Clinton, they must really love McCain (aside from the Paul hold outs).

So why would John McCain make a great president?

because he'll take us to war with iran...and thats good, i think...or something. i'm not really sure.

because hes really old and reminds everyone of their grandfather...not the one that has to be fed with a baby spoon by a nurse...the other one, thats still "active".

because his arms are really stiff and he moves like a robot...and robots are really freakin sweet!

because he was a POW and therefore we owe it to him to make him president.

because hes run twice before, so third times the charm?

Simple answer , he is the most conservative of the 3 that are left .

I don't know whether or not he would make a great president, but I like him for several reasons.

He's not blowing smoke up anyone's ass about Iraq.

He doesn't always vote the party line.

I have a feeling we will be finding out what made him the best choice.

He worries me in the sense that he's put himself in the "conservative" position of being a tax cut and spend Republican. Republicans seem to think that war and tax cuts will solve any problem. On the other hand if he's moves back to the center to win the general, he might prove to be a good compromiser by wanting to move forward with a positive agenda. Also his immigration stance concerns me.

I'm not hearing much enthusiasm from Democrats or Republicans. (Liberals or conservatives.)

Maybe this explains the Obama Bombing, it's just more exciting.

Why are so many people on either side defending politicians when they screw up?. Party affiliation has gotten out of control when a liar, bigot or worse is defended. The media can't call someone for what he or she is, which is a liar? When a president lies or engages in illegal activities people on both sides line up with their parties and begin what amounts to a political food fight or game of dodge ball. Accusations fly and if you get hit you're out (Not always i.e. Clinton#1 or Bush#2) The partisan politics makes me want to puke. Now race is being thrown into the mix and sides are being drawn into this debate. Is there honestly one black person who would not care if a tape of Hillary at a KKK rally surfaced? Does Barack expect us to believe he didn't agree with the hate being spewed by his "mentor" for 20 long years? Don Imus not even an elected official who said some pretty nasty things drew the venom of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson ( plus many others ), he is no longer with MSNBC (thank god). Why is it ok for one but not the other? The elected officials in this country whom we pay (very well) to tell us what we can and can't do ( such a crock ) go to work everyday and bicker like little kids fighting over their favorite toy. Why is honesty not a factor in politics?. When a guy cheats on his wife and looks his family in the face everyday living a lie, what makes us the voters so special? If we believe they are only dishonest to their families we deserve them as our leaders. Kwame Kilpatrick whom turned his own lies and botched policies around on the voters when we question his ability to lead called it a "Lynch Mob Mentality". Kwame just spit in the face of every good decent black person who was hanged for no good reason. When a Magistrate from my county was arrested for his 3rd D.U.I. his case is still in limbo because no judge or prosecutor wants to face the music themselves one day when they break the law. People defend these idiots who are not smart enough to stick to the laws they make and enforce? Am I alone in being so mad about this?. Not wearing seatbelts and pot are illegal but it's ok to waste the taxpayers time and money on frivilous lawsuits paid by us for your bad judgement? This whole system is a joke and we definately need some new leadership in the U.S.A. Everyone seems content enough to sit by and watch this crap on T.V. night after night. To all the people who might say that some things aren't our business about politicians.. You're right except when they are caught in a lie to those closest to them it most certainly means they are lying to us. We pay these people hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to be honest to us and look out for our best interests. THIS IS STILL A FREE COUNTRY ISN'T IT?
