What's with the misplaced rage? I would think if you want something to get heated about you'd talk about the fact that this guy was appointed in place of someone who won an overwhelming majority.

I am mad about his appointment, this is life in the US these days. There should be a special election. That said I get really mad when they offer a solution that is almost as bad as the problem.

I honestly don't see a connection between a man's sex life and his ability to govern. Men have a biological drive that is incredibly strong. Without this drive, the human race would have died out long ago.

What "appointment"?

He was the legally elected lieutenant governor of the state of New York. When the gov cashed in his chips, it was his job to assume the governorship of the state.

No different than if Clinton had had the decency to resign and Gore took over.

I'm not defending infidelity, I just don't see where it is a concern of ours. If we wait for a truly honest "servant to the people", we'll never have another elected official. Maybe Paterson & his wife have worked out whatever made them cheat on each other to begin with, none of us know what goes on behind closed doors, well, some seem to have their doors open more than others. I believe that forgivness is the thing that holds/binds humankind together & the Patersons seem to have put this behind them.

Oh, the voters of New York should have had that information available to them before the guy got elected. It's one thing for his wife to forgive him, quite another for him to sneak his load of horse manure into the public office.

It goes to character.

And it is the voter's business.
