Thread: Ron Paul Ends His Campaign

Rep. Ron Paul has ended his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, breaking the news in a seven-minute video posted on his campaign Web site Thursday. The Texan, who ran on a libertarian platform and saw an outpouring of financial support via the Internet, tried to soothe anxious supporters by letting them know that his "campaign for freedom will continue in this new phase." While his campaign will not formally organize events, he encouraged supporters to continue to work on behalf of a broader movement.

Although I didnt agree with everything he stood for, I believe he would have been a better choice than any of the current crop of candidates.

Some of his supporters are questionable but the same could be said about the other candidates.

What I find funny is how people questioned his monetary, military, and gov. bureau dismantling ideas, but fail to question Hillary when she promises all this money to people w/o telling where it is coming from.
Or questioning McCain on all his flip flopping on stances from Illegal Immigration to taxes.

Oh well more of the same for the next 4 to 8 years I guess America is happy with the status quo.

He didn't end the campaign, he just admitted that he can't win, god you people will distorte his words to just make it look like his campaign is over, you guys are no better than CNN and FAUX.

I find it very sad that the only candidate that is speaking of personnal responsibility and personnal freedom has had to step aside because the only thing that matters to most Americans anymore is "what can the government do for me". It's no longer about what people can do for themselves, but what they can get the Fed to take from others and give to them.

Don't worry, I'll get just as much pleasure posting "McCain gets beat by no experience cult leader" when the time comes as Bourne got posting this thread.

I was going to vote for him since McCain is the Republican nominee. Given that he admits he cannot win then i guess I have no choice but to vote for McCain. Funny really. I was going to vote for Paul and now he is backing out and then Ralph Nader enters the race from the left.

Vote for him anyways dude.
