also, i can't find anything saying solar plants have high environmental impacts. yes the panels have toxic chemicals in them, but if the panels were breaking at such a high level to poison landfills, the solar plant intself wouldn't be very functional.
my advice would be to not have inspector clouseau handle or adjust the panels.
and i found data that said wind turbines kill thousands of birds a year, but thats small compared to the 150 million killed each year by cars and plate glass.
Right.
Oh, gotcha. Sum total.
2000 tons. Or a couple of box cars full.
See? Not much at all.
Funny, the French supply most of their electricity from nuclear. Without any problems at all.my advice would be to not have inspector clouseau handle or adjust the panels.
And really huge compared to the zero killed by nuke plants.and i found data that said wind turbines kill thousands of birds a year, but thats small compared to the 150 million killed each year by cars and plate glass.
whatever. then i guess you won't mind if the shipping routes go by your house.
oh and by the way, since we don't have a storage facility as of yet, theres roughly 65,000 tonnes of waste all over the country. so once yucca mountain or wherever does open, looks like we'll have more than a couple of box cars worth to get rid of all at once.
plus, considering france is roughly a 5th the size of the u.s. in population, and considering about a 5th of our electricity comes from nuclear power, i'd say we're done. we matched the french.
except not really since france reprocesses most of its waste, whereas we don't do that at all in this country.
So your argument goes like this:
The lefties have refused absolutely any and all attempts by any responsible party to construct a proper storage facility for nuclear waste.
Then they proclaim that we can't build new nuclear power plants because we don't have any place to keep the waste, and that we should shut down all current nuclear power plants because they're holding extensive amounts of waste on site, because there's no place in this country to put the waste.
That's called circular reasoning, something lefties are prone to.
Here's another thing, there's nothing wrong with using Yucca Mountain for waste storage. All the arguments against that site are as relevant to the hazards of nuclear waste as fools wondering if Monica Lewinski should be checked for cervical cancer because she smoked a cigar.
