    Washington DC Next January

Here is my guess for the Washington DC landscape after the Nov election:

    President:- B. Obama
    VP: - John Edwards

    Sec of State- Joe Biden

Sec of Defense - Colin Powell

Atty Gen. ?? (maybe Hillary if she wants it)

    Senate - 62 to 38 Democrat
    House-??

Edwards is gone. Powell wouldn't do it. Biden will be the next Sec of State.

Why wouldn't Powell do it if the new President convinces him that to unite the country (Bipartisan admin) & to provide strong, knowledgeable (for a change) civilian defense leadership in a time of great danger, his country needs him?

Because he wouldn't. Obama is hardly a uniter as is.

Ps-Rumsfeld was HIGHLY KNOWLEDGEABLE and experienced in that position. The most of any person in this country. He just sucked at it.

Right you are about Rumsfeld. (I guess I was thinking more of the entire civilian control of the military including the idiot in charge)

    POTUS McCain
    VP Sanford

I have no idea who he'll pick for his cabinet, except, I do believe he'll choose a retired/former General
McCains website has gotten more $$ in donations than ever before since the NYT wrote that hit piece. Think they won't circle the wagon when one of their own is attacked, seemingly in an unjustified manner, just like the Dems do.

They just need to go with common sense when appointing their cabinet. Get a really good ambassador as Secretary of State, a really good lawyer for Att. Gen. an amazing general for Sec. of Def., so on and so forth. I'm sure Obama could pick the right people for the job and do it in a non-partisan fashion.

You really think this country wants more of Bush's policies?......Come on now.
I predict McCain will lose by the biggest landslide since 1972

& if he did that, he's a 1 term POTUS. They "owe" people, all of them "owe peopel. Course I think whoever the next POTUS will be will be a 1 term POTUS.
Ambassadoes qualifications is usually nothing more than donating large sums of $$$ to a campaign, or something else that helped get the person elected.
