Obama wins Hawaii, McCain wins Washington

WASHINGTON (AP) — Barack Obama cruised past a fading Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Wisconsin primary and Hawaii caucuses Tuesday night, gaining the upper hand in a Democratic presidential race for the ages.
The twin triumphs made 10 straight for Obama, and left the former first lady in desperate need of a comeback in a race she long commanded as front-runner.
"The change we seek is still months and miles away," Obama told a boisterous crowd in Houston in a speech in which he also pledged to end the war in Iraq in his first year in office.
"I opposed this war in 2002. I will bring this war to an end in 2009. It is time to bring our troops home," he declared.
Sen. John McCain, the Republican front-runner, won a pair of primaries, in Wisconsin and Washington, to continue his march toward certain nomination.

If Barack Obama wants to lead the Democrat Party into the Nov.08 election running on the platform of ending this war in Iraq, I say bring it on. John McCain will destroy the big government, tax and spend, pro-abortion, anti-war socialist. Vote Republican!

But John McCain is the big government, tax and spend, pro-abortion, pro-war socialist.

Your other points aside, McCain is not pro-war. He does, however, understand the need to support democracy in Iraq by finishing what we started and by not abandoning the Iraqis to ceratin genocide if we were to just pickup and leave. That's also why I forsee Obama taking a more graduated and cautious approach to withdrawl.

"Certain genocide?" The only 'genocide' is the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi deaths that have resulted from the illegal U.S. invasion and occupation. The same people who say there will be a 'genocide' are the ones who told us the Iraqis would be out throwing flower petals in the streets as our tanks rolled down the block.

Yes, John "There's Gonna Be Other Wars" McCain is a sociopath when it comes to his fanatical pro war stance.

"Asked about the remark later by Mother Jones’ David Corn, McCain reaffirmed it, “excitedly declaring that U.S. troops could be in Iraq for ‘a thousand years’ or ‘a million years,’ as far as he was concerned.”"

Well, then, I guess the real difference is that Obama is a coward for retreating in Iraq (or as the Dems say, "RE-DEPLOY). Interesting choice of words for the Dems. John McCain ( a hero from Vietnam) wants to finish the war on a victorious note. We can also look at the taxes. McCain will not eliminate Bush's tax cuts from 2001,03. Obama will. Shall we go on?

Now come on, nobody that has suffered like McCain did, (still does) would wish that on anybody. You're also wrong on the pro-abortion. Tax & spend? Yes, along with 534 others in congress. I am all for his going after pork barrell spending though. He takes nothing in pork barrell sending.

McCain said he does not want Roe v. Wade overturned. He criticized Alito for "wearing his conservatism on his sleeve."

His "pork barrel" cuts will cover about .01% of how much his massive global warmongering empire will cost. It's a sick joke. "Bridges to nowhere" are not the real problem.

McCain says that now on the campaign trail, yet he was one of only two Republicans who voted against the tax cuts from the beginning.

Do you actually believe that if we leave Iraq the killing just stops or even declines? The sectarian killings will increase and the insugents will begin genocide against anyone who supports the Iraqi government. What do we do then? Go back in or just sit back and let it happen? Do you advocate just abandoning Iraq to a certain fate?

The Iraqis were cheering US troops when they intially rolled into Iraq's major cities after the intial invasion. Sectarian rivalry and insurgent violence put an end to that.

As for McCain, he is not a sociopath, not by any measure. He will see this war to a speedy and successful conclusion and support democracy in Iraq.
