    Most Military Donations: Guess Who?

    No, it's not McCan't.

    They want to come home

What else can we conclude when they vote with their wallets for the only candidate who promises to bring them home? From Q4 FEC reports:

Total Military Member Donations to McCain, Romney and Huckabee Donations Combined: 732

Ron Paul Total Military Member Donations: 931

(Research by a Ron Paul Forums member; details below)

I just did a basic search on the FEC's website which posted 4th quarter campaign donations today. It turns out that from this basic search, Ron Paul is blowing the other candidates away with donations from the military again. I used a basic search by typing either "Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine, and Coast Guard" into the search field and this is what I came up with:

    Army:

    Ron Paul - 413 donations
    McCain - 141 donations
    Romney - 72 donations
    Huckabee - 42 donations

    Navy:

    Ron Paul - 242
    McCain - 185
    Romney - 22
    Huckabee - 33

    Marines:

    Ron Paul - 109
    McCain - 67
    Romney - 20
    Huckabee - 23

    Air Force:

    Ron Paul - 137
    McCain - 69
    Romney - 10
    Huckabee - 40

    Coast Guard:

    Ron Paul - 30
    McCain - 4
    Romney - 1
    Huckabee - 3

    Total Military Member Donations:

    Ron Paul - 931
    McCain - 466
    Romney - 125
    Huckabee - 141

Total Military Member Donations to McCain, Romney and Huckabee Donations Combined: 732

Ron Paul Total Military Member Donations: 931

As of April 2007, about 1,426,700 people are on active duty in the military with an additional 1,458,500 people in the seven reserve components.[

Let's see? 931 out of 2,885,200. Wow, what a profound statement about the military's support for Paul.

    And McCain? Half that. :whistling:

My point exactly. Given the total number of donations for all of the candidates combined subtracted from the total compliment of the military makes your assertion that Paul has the support of the military ridiculous and unsupported nonsense.

Seriously, there are 800,000 members of the military. Less than .125% (yes, almost 1 out of 1,000) donated to Ron Paul.

You're right, Defensor. The others seem to want to argue a fact and I don't get why. Can they produce a current presidential candidate that has a higher percentage of military donations?

I know one thing, most the guys in the Army did not like McCAin, you'd think they would. I like McCain.

I've been out almost two years now, so no idea where people are. I do think it very plausible that Ron Paul has a decent following in the military.

I was in the USMC and as a former Marine speaking for myself I think McCain is a giant douche who got his fucking brain scrambled in Hanoi, if he wants us to stay in Iraq so bad I think he should get his ass back in the grass with the grunts and stay out with them, otherwise bring our boys home from that god forsaken shithole.

That goes for any dipshit who thinks we should stay unless you have been there, I'm not say you hv to hv done anything but at least hv shown up for the game, then you have no fucking right to even armchair quarterback the decision for our young men and women to be there.
