What do y'all think about a Clinton-Obama ticket?
Some Dems, are calling this, the "Dream Ticket".
Others, don't see it that way.
What do you think?
Do you think it has any chance of happening?
Do you think it would have a chance of winning?

I don't think Clinton would accept. I don't know about Obama. Obama would be great for Clinton.Obama brings republicans and independents.
I am about 90% sure Clinton would never accept VP position. I think if the DNC came to Obama however; and said look, the party needs you on that ticket, he'd be there.
I think Edwards makes a much better VP for Obama. He's your traditional white male, appeals to working class liberals. I hope Edwards comes out for Obama at the convention.
Why would Obama accept such a thing? He's campaigning on the premise we need new blood in Washington. He'd just be seen as a sell-out if he accepted the VP slot. Obama may not win this nomination but he would certainly win in four years, regardless of what happens with Hillary. Obama still has the potential, jumping onto the sinking ship that is the Hillary campaign would destroy all of his future political hopes.
Agreed.
I can see Hillary going for it if she felt she had to as she is most likely of the mentality that she'd do anything to win, even team with someone she has grown not to like (if that is her true feelings, it may just be politics). For Barack to do it, it would be political suicide. His biggest advantage is claiming he isn't like those other candidates... if he did that, then he would be.
Yep. That makes sense to me too. An astute analysis. Well done.
That, as near as I can tell, is pretty much the reality. The "dream ticket" won't happen, for that reason.
So, given that, then, we're left with what will almost certainly be Clinton and Evan Bayh, yes? Her people have been hinting at that one for a very long time, and Bayh has been squeaky clean in terms of what he's been saying about it, and about Hillary, so it seems like that's still going on (or let's say, still a very likely possibility).
Obama.... hm.... I don't think Edwards is the right guy for him. There's a "perceptual" thing around Edwards too, just like there is around Hillary, and that's the one thing that Obama doesn't have and doesn't want, right? That's exactly what makes him such a spectacular candidate, is that he doesn't have that "hatred and disdain" thing going against him, and what little of it there is, is mostly coming from kooks and racists and people who most people would kinda consider "fringe" in some way, to begin with, right? So, I don't really think we'll see Edwards on Obama's ticket.
Seems to me, Obama needs someone young, out of the same "branch" of the Democratic Party, and preferably white and female, but white and male is okay too. He could play to the South, but he could also play to the heartland - he's been getting a lot of support from places like Nebraska (Ben Nelson), Missouri (Claire McCaskill), Kansas (Gov. Sebelius).... right? And I mean, if he did that, he'd be cuttin' a swath right through the Bible Belt, correct? (considering that Illinois might be on the "northern tip" there).... And if he did that, he could pick up some of those estimated ten million new "religious left" votes, in that part of the country, yes? 'Cause I mean,l the man is a Christian, and he is interested in liberal causes, and....... see where I'm going with this?
(you know the votes I'm talking about, right? the "religious left" thing? Rick Warren and people like that? they're not exactly "left", but they are interested in some "liberal causes", and they love character, just like the religious right does, and it occurs to me, that Obama might be just their guy, and that's a big chunk of brand new votes that most people don't even know about yet, right?) -
So, I'm kinda thinkin', things might go in that direction, for Obama's veep. And, I think, that would be a good move, too. 'Cause then, you've got "de facto" participation from the traditional liberal power centers (like, Kennedy in liberal MA up there), but, you don't have the "stain" of the public perception of it, on the guy that's gotta remain stain-free that way, right? It's perfect, it's a brilliant political strategy. See what I'm sayin'?
What do you think?
Obama would do well to pick up Richardson, since he seems to have some problems with the latino vote.
I'm not sure who could really help Hillary, she has a lot of negatives to overcome, and anyone with real political ambitions is going to look very closely at what a loss would mean to their own ambitions.
We have entered a new age, nominees only get one shot, lose the nomination in the general election and its over, so siding with the loser is a big gamble these days.
I'd like to see Obama/Edwards. It would help in the south and they share similar ideologies. I was hoping for Edwards/Obama.
I'm still kinda new here - sounds like you were/are an Edwards supporter.
And, you're one of those who's Obama-inclined?
Are you hearing any word, if Edwards is gonna endorse, one way or the other? That would be a very powerful endorsement, for either candidate.
What part of Edwards' message, most appeals to you?
