To go with nonsqtr's thread, all of us Dems must realise this...... The Republicans only hope for retaining the White House in 08 is for Hillary to be the Democratic nominee. They will rally voters to beat her!

A vote for Romney is a vote for McCain which is a vote for Clinton which is a vote for Obama. Follow the money to the poisoned well. This ends badly no matter who wins.
I heard a guy speaking on TV that said, "John McCain is a true hero & i would literally lay down my life for him, but, i will not vote for him for POTUS. He is not a dem, not a repub, not a liberal, not a conservative, he is a senator & does what senators do, keeps the senate happy, he is not qualified to be president"
My question is, what keeps the senate happy?
Yes. The Reps would love to see Hllary win, it's the only way they're gonna get their base energized enough to make it to the polls on election day.
I'm hearing a lot of people say they're gonna stay home if McCain runs, and people like that, the only thing that's gonna get 'em up off their duff, is their hatred of Hillary.
Well, seems to me, we're gonna find out here in about two hours, whether Obama has any substance. Hillary's gonna zero right in on those issues, and Obama's gonna have to sh** or get off the pot.
So, I gots my popcorn, and all the essentials, and I'm ready to hunker down and watch all the input -
This is great - you know, Chris Matthews has been coming across with some "really good commentary" - like, I think he counted 42 invocations of Ronald Reagan's name at last night's debate, and then, you know, he gets the Hillary people to say on the air that they're considering suing for those delegates in Florida, and all kinds of great stuff. That guy's really pretty good, he's a little biased but he's okay.
Anyway, I'm gonna be watching for any kind of smell of a setup of any kind, you know, anyone feeding question or issues or anything like that. Just as predicted, the stars and starlets (and paparazzi) are out in force, and tickets are impossible to get, but I can kinda hike up to the hills here in back of our house, and whip out the old pocket telescope, and see the whole thing pretty well. I probably won't catch a glimpse of the candidates, but there's sure a lot of pretty young Democrettes floatin' around Hollywood today....![]()
You're not taking into account that a fair number of conservatives/ Republicans will vote Dem (Hillary or otherwise) just to keep McCain out of office.
Ask Larry Craig.
You know, I don't understand people's political stance sometimes. While I don't care for Hillary, I don't have the out and out hatred that some do for her. While I actually do like McCain, I don't see why Republicans see him as a sell out. The guy has his own mind and doesn't always follow the party line.
