    Republican Party Fading Away

And none to soon. Maybe years ago it stood for good conservative principles, but in the last seven years it has stood for greed, hypocrisy, fake religious ideals & lying to the public. ( they are so adrift that they are about to select John McCain, the moderate as their nominee) They don't know who they are anymore.......or maybe they have looked in the mirror & don't like what they see.

    Re: Republican Party Fading Away

Well, most accurately, they have "partially" looked in the mirror.

There are "some" powerful forces within the Party, that have done so.

But those Neo-Weasels, they're not going to give up power easily.

They're kinda like Hillary, in that regard - they don't wanna "stand down".

So, I would kinda characterize the Republican Party right now, as kinda "standing in the corner with its tail between its legs".

It is far from finished, as a viable political force. However, two things are true: a) the People will punish them, in this election, for the idiotic stupidity of the past seven years, and b) the Party will then get a clue, and start promoting fresh faces and new talent and new ideas ('cause I mean, the old ones, are clearly not working). So, like, I'm talking about people like that guy Putnam from Florida, and Bobby Jindal from Louisiana (that guy is going places, trust me - and the Reps, would be bloody fools not to make a rock star out of the guy, like, "quick", right? ) -

So, yeah, that's kinda what I'm seeing right now. The Rep base needs to re-formulate around the young people, and once that happens, they'll be right back in the ball game.

The Party of Regan is surely long dead. And honestly I think with a John McCain nomination it might as well be the end of the republican party and we can just start over. Because placing McCain vs Clinton, you basically getting the same thing in two different packages.

I think the problem with the republican party is that it's "Base" and people like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity have forgotten that you are never going to win an election with simply the "Base" of a party. If you could then Ron Paul would not be in the hole that he is in because I think he would appeal to a lot of the "base" of the republican party. I honestly believe that a lot of support for John McCain is coming from the fact that he is always the one to jump to the democrats aid, when they want to block a judge or hold up a legislation. The think that he will be able to win swing votes and even some democrat votes in a year where they think that because of George W that republicans are destined to lose.

This is a myth, on the cover of Newsweek and in your mind. The political landscape in the US is controlled by the Middle. The Middle tries Middle Right for a while, then they try Middle Left for a while. It's been Middle Right for a long time, so it's probably time for Middle Left.

We have had no new taxes and 2 conservative appointments to the SCOTUS and an overseas war dedicated to asserting our power for the past 8 years. That's VERY conservative.

The Republican party will be Middle Left for a while (on a relative, not absolute scale). Note that McCain looks like he's going to get the nomination.... That should tell you that the winds of change are blowing and that politics will always change with the wind.

Good riddance. The Republican Party has been nothing but an obstacle to good government for decades. Now we just need to work on eliminating the other half of the Party which calls itself the Democrats.

There not exactly the same...But I think both parties are heading to a place where you won't be able to tell the difference.

In what way are they different, pray tell?

And I mean, you're probably gonna come back and tell me about the specifics on the issues, but that's not what I'm looking at.

'Cause "issues", are only "differences of opinion on how best to solve problems", yes?

What "I'm" looking at, is the way these people behave.

So, like both the Reps and Dems, are spending my money like it's going out of style. Both of 'em are violating the Constitutional contract left and right, and then trying to "spin it" like they "need to" do that to solve a particular problem or another. Both of 'em, feel the need to play the same kind of idiot hard-ball politics which excludes both the other side of the aisle, and the People of the United States.

I mean, I see no difference between those clowns. None!

No there not . The Republicans dont want National healthcare, Because they understand that will turn into a 15 to 20 % reduction in net income. They also would never cut 400,000 military positions like the Clintons did . They also wont cripple the FBI and CIA like the Clinton admin did . They would never give China missle tech like the Clinton admin did , they would never give North Korea fuel rods like the Clinton admin did and so many other things that the text limits on this board would never permit .

The facts above are plenty for sane American family's to not abandon the Republican party .
