Now I am not saying every agencies would be shut down, nor do they need be. Get rid of the US Department of education, the war on drugs, close overseas bases, and you just saved the economy. Further more get out of NAFTA, GATA, WHO, IMO, and a few other country busting agreements, then you bring prosperity.
I think that the government needs to create a law that you cannot take incentives from lobbyists. I have no problem with them existing to pitch their platform, but, the straight out bribery has got to go. It worked in pharma.

Not everybody that is laid off or fired gets unemployment. Say a federal employee had enough time in to draw a pension, they would not be eligble to get unemployment, & there are millions that could retire. For instance, a friend of ours retired from the USAF with a monthly retirement check of just over $1,200 a month (E-7, several years ago) since he was unemployed but still planning on working he decided to file for unemployment. He was turned down, the reason, "you make too much money". Maybe that's changed now though.

It's actually amazing that they have not. Absolutely criminal in fact.

The millions of 23-35 years who just purchased condos and will be forced to foreclose on them in DC will have a little problem. Why don't we just go ahead and make this whole area like Anacostia? It would be a lot less painful.

I see. He advocates something, and his principles are so incredibly high that he doesn't do what he advocates because the bill has not been signed.

Dr. Paul returns part of his own budget every year just to stick to his principles. Name one other congressman who does that. :whistling:

That's admirable. But does that make him a more ambitious, effective and successful legislator. No.

It is not as difficult as it would seem to close down agencies, I wish it were harder to expand what you have or create new agencies.
