    Ideology chart

    This chart is very interesting:

Pew chart that shows how the various presidential candidates are viewed by the population at large. What's interesting is that Democrats have almost exactly the same view of the Republican candidates as Republican voters do. Republicans, by contrast, have flatly insane views of the Democratic candidates, placing Obama in Dennis Kucinich territory and Hillary Clinton in some kind of socialist hell netherworld.
The far left doesn't really even exist except in the minds of Republicans.

That chart points something out but not about reality but only about perception. It really does not matter what Republicans think of the Democratic candidates. it matters what the Democrates think of them. There is the real interesting bit. The Democrats think their candidates are way off of what they see as their ideology. The Liberlas in this chart must be very dissalusioned with thier candidates.

I agree that it's a perception thing but Republicans perception of Democrats is way off, due to their acceptance of what the Republican party says about Democratic candidates.

I think most Hillary supporters like her because they think she can win. Period. Edwards supporters (like me) are more disappointed in assholes that are voting for Hillary (mostly) and Obama (somewhat). My feeling is, if you're going to be a Democrat you should vote for one.

You may be onto something there. I would have to say that in that context the media is like that girl that ran from clique to clique spreading gossip just to start fights.

The left in the USA believes in things far over to the left of their candidates. that is why the Democrates on the charts think that Hillary and Obamma are closer to the middle. So your candidates do not reflect your views. there is the real issue with the chart.

Good point. Neither is Kucinich. Maybe they're off the chart?

Another marginalization of Ron Paul, libertarianism, and classical liberalism.

If that were true, Kucinich would have been nominated already, wouldn't he?
