    Democracy Is Political Entertainment

The latest controversy around the racial slurs against Obama and the sexist remarks about Hillary, proves in effect what we've always known to be true: democracy is political entertainment. The masses simply can't get enough; we've had a disastrous war in Iraq that is leading nowhere, an economy that's about to go into recession, increased ethnic conflicts and several reports of corrupt lobbying, yet we insist on more.

I think the insistence on more is to ferret out enough corruption with the hope that collectively, something will click in Americans to clean out the system and start fresh.

Do you mean that Americans insist on more media coverage, more drama in that coverage, or more politicking in general?

Gosh no wait. Don't tell me. You support Ron Paul.

Can you please be more subtle when you play the poser role. Yes I know. Ron is different. He's the one. p.s. that was Nixon's campaign motto. He got it from being a lawyer and gettingt he idea from Coca Cola.

This Messiah thing and he's the one, he's different, well its kind of been used. Tom Cruise beat you to it. You should watch his video. He's using all the techniques only he adds the laugh.

Perhaps its capitlism that is rendering democracy moot? When both sides of the aisle are working toward the same goal, the population needs to be distracted. Otherwise, they may start asking real questions. Perhaps it's time to stand up? Perhaps we need a new party?

It's very simple. The media loves Obama, (atleast for now). SO, as long as they attack the Clintons they are able to keep the focus off the issues. Which is what they want. They don't want you to know his voting record, or his shady business dealings. So as long as they keep everyone focused on the mean Clintons they can hide the truth.

Only I think it's having the opposite effect. Many whites/hipanics are tired of the race card. I think him losing the "white" vote in SC only proves that. Barack Hussein Obama is the one who brought race to the table and now that it is being served, he's quite upset. Everytime the media screams "Bill Clinton is injecting race", it only reminds people that Obama is black and that if he is elected president, race will always be on the table. People don't want that.

He has said he is the man of change, the unifier - he has only divided. Ironic isn't it?

I would like one person to tell me how Bill Clinton has injected "race into the campaign". And don't bring up the "fairytale" quote. He was referring to Obama's position on the war.

Issues. Everybody wants to hear about the issues. Everybody also says all politicians lie. Why are we so interested in what they say. It has been a long time since any issue was dealt with to completion that it a pipe dream to think any of them can start now.

Obama may be the man of change, but it doesn't seem like he has a chance of finishing his first term even if elected. A non-white male wile actually have influence on debate in the middle east. Once he gets some traction and forward momentum gained toward peace, he will be removed from office. We are watching the 21st century equilvalent of the expansion of rome.

it is time to stop our globe trotting, educate our kids, and affect real change on our government.

What makes you think he is for change? Because he says so? He has admitted "pushing the wrong button" when voting in Illinois.
Just what we need is another self admitted dummie in the white house.

So much blame about "the media doesn't want you to know the issues" - bla, bla, bla. If the media spent any real time on the issues, they would find themselves as watched as C-Span. The media has no real agenda other than entertainment and keeping people tuned in. It is all about commercials.

I think entertainment is obvious since the major networks are owned by Viacom, Disney, Fox, Universal, Time-Warner.

Hmmm... Same people who make movies. This is not a new assertion.
