Cool! I might have to send Ronnie-boy some more money.

Hey, I just got a cold-call from a Ron Paul 527 today! They were called "Citizens United for Liberty and Justice" or some such thing - "no affiliation or funding from any candidate", right? They just wanted me to vote for Ron Paul 'cause he's such a swell guy.

Good stuff! He pulls second in Nevada, beating out McCain, without even campaigning! That's great!

Yeah, apparently you have to be eighteen in order to donate or something, so that sucks for me since I'm seventeen, and no way in hell my parents would throw in a few to Paul.

But damn, won't that be something, 10 million in one day? Completely grass roots too.

It brings hope to this country.

Why would sane person want to waste their money on a candidate that has zero chance of winning, and less chance of getting named as a running mate?

Answer: No sane person would do that, the people that do are insane.

Why does it matter if it he wins or not. It's about the message and getting the message across that the american people don't want the same old shit in washington. If I can contribute to the cause and show that a "bottom-tier" candidate can get 10 million in one day, then hell yes I'll "waste" my fucking money doing exactly that.

His "message"? The Constitution stuff is nice...then he comes out with the "let's run away from Iraq immediately" nonsense, or the "those nice Iranian boys were just havin' a little fun with their motorboats, it don' mean nothin'" schtick on that last debate i watched.

What, does the old fool expect to completely reverse a ninety year old trend when he won't have a single supporting vote in Congress if he gets elected? That, coupled with the disaster his foreign policy would be, means his message sucks.

Lots of chatter about the Constitution, no concrete plan that would even give the appearance of plugging in the de-fibrillator. He's got some okay ideas. He needs to find a man that can present them in a solid way.

Ya know, Romney spent some 500 dollars per voter in Iowa only to take second. Pretty sure my vocal or voting abilities are worth far more than whatever I have to donate to a lost cause. That is, if I actually supported Ron Paul.

All of his ideas are connected. A non-interventionist foreign policy, stay out of entangling alliances, MYOB. On domestic policy, MYOB. They all stick to the same principle, MYOB.

It seems like you have lost faith in America. It seems like you think there is no chance that the constitution can be restored in Washington. Ever. Well, when was the last time a libertarian got as much publicity as Ron Paul has and when has there been this much talk and debate about libertarian principles?

You have to start somewhere. What better place than HERE? What better time than NOW?

Didn't I just say it isn't about him winning? I said it's about is message, and the importance that his message remains out there.

I will stand behind the candidate whose views I support.

Whether he "stands a chance of winning", is of no concern to me.

I cast my vote honestly, and I do not blackmail myself into compromising my political principles.
