Presidential Pardons-Subject Them To Congressional Advice & Consent

    From another thread:

To avoid real (or even percieved) conflicts of interest, in my opinion all future Presidential pardons should be subject to the Advice & Consent of Congress before they become the law of the land. This is required for many other Presidential desires, why not for pardons?

(Not sure if this could be done via creative legislation or if it would require a constitutional amendment, but it should be done.)

I'm not worried very much about Presidential pardons.

I'm more worried, about other aspects of the Constitution, that seem to be being ignored these days.

I want the contract enforced. I do not agree that it's a worthless piece of paper whose time has passed.

As far as I can tell, it's the only thing that stands between We the People, and abusive tyrants.

The US Constitution would have to be changed in order to do that, Article II Section II. I don't think the constitution should be messed with.
I don't agree with a lot of the pardons, especially the political pay back ones, but still, I don't want them dallying with, as nonsqtr said, the only thing that stands between We the Paople & abusive tyrants. Even with that, there are tyrants in gov't that messes with We the People every day.

I just thought of the very powerful scene in Truman Capote's book/movie In Cold Blood where, as one of the killers is climbing the scafold to be hung, one reporter turns to another & (looking at the hangman) asks: "Does he have a name?" (referring to the very evil looking hangman)
The 2nd reporter responds..." Yes........We The People"
