Hell Yes!!

Here's an interplay that never took place on 9/11:

Secret Service:
"Mr. President, we must get you to a safe underground bunker until we are sure these attacks are over!"

President Bush:
"I appreciate that your job is to protect the life of your President but, let me remind you that you can only suggest things that I should do, you can't issue orders to me. I am the President & my country is under attack! The American people expect & have a right to see their President firmly in control of this government at just such times as this,..... Not cowering in a hole in the ground somewhere!" I am ordering you to start the engines of Air Force One & fly me back to Washington right now or I will hail a cab & be driven there! If you want to stop me you will have to shoot me right here!"

Anyone remember that conversation?....I sure don't

What's your point? That is besides demonstrating that you can write fiction.

Bush is a coward, but the narrative scenario you propose is an admittedly weak demonstration of his cowardliness.

I neither know or care whether or not Bush is a coward.

I never had him pegged for a coward. Maybe stubborn and stupid, but not cowardly.

Sorry, it was the best I could come up with at the time. Wide open for better examples though. (there are plenty of them)

Do you think Bush going on television and grandstanding from Washington on 9/11 the way Rudy Giuliani did (and still does) would have actually been a sign of true courage?

How about this:

Flying (quickly & secretly) into Iraq, so that he could be photographed with real men (our troops) & handing them a plastic turkey before being whisked out of the country again?
