    Delegates from primaries

I'm confused. How come states that haven't had their primaries have already given out delegate votes?

    How does this work?

They have not given out the delegate votes yet. That is just a breakdown of which states have how many delegates.

Did you look at the link? I don't think that is right. It says 302 recorded. They give thousands. These have already been given. I would think the state of Virginia would have more than 8 delegates total. And NC has more than 0.

I see what you are talking about. I believe that is just based on polls.

    Re: Delegates from primaries

Its an estimate of already known delegates and who they have pledged to support publicly. It doesn't mean anything, like so much of the trash on CNN.

An example would be the mayor of Los Angeles has publicly supported Hillary Clinton, presuming he is a delegate, CNN would count him as a pledged delegate to Hillary. I'm guessing there are some people who are going to be quick to back-peddle into Obama's camp if the primaries continue to go his way.

Not all delegates are chosen by caucus or primary and there are differences between the Dems and Reps on how the process works. Some endorsements such as members of congress come with delegates but contacting the DNC and RNC is the only way to get the details.
