Are Neo-conservatives really just Liberals or ex-Liberals at that. They to me are not real conservatives and just look like a bunch of lost liberals whom got lost on vacation in a place that spoke a different language then they did,

Maybe on their trip to growing up they lost their way?

are regressive cultures still on the planet--the liberal certainty in

I think they are liberals who still think Vietnam was a great idea, but wouldn't have fought in the war for a million dollars themselves.

They sort of emerged from the left wing. According to David Brock in Blinded by the Right it sounds like they were basically disenfranchised from the 60s leftists. Today (the last 8 years) they have co-opted any conservative "value" that will serve their purposes with votes (i.e., right-wing Christians).

But basically, I think they were the hippies who couldn't get laid during the sexual revolution.
