Thread: Oprah and Obama

Harballs is leading with this story today. I'm sick of this already - the soundbites of Oprah talking with this obscenely pompous tone. Suddenly she cares about politics. Her ratings must be down so she's decided to cash in on the election.

Am I the only one who thinks this celebrity endorsement is bullshit? Or do I just not like Oprah?

I think it's great. The Billery camp is going nuts. I hope Obama beats her by 1 vote.

i think oprah is a bit pompous but i give her credit for her generous works. its definitely stupid to vote for obama because oprah is supporting him. but im sure it will work at some level with some die hard oprah fans. i like obama for other reasons. i dont think the support is bullshit, but it is fair to ask where was she in politics before.

Another one that doesn't worship Oprah??? My oh my, I thought I was the only woman on earth that doesn't hang onto her every word.
As for celebrities getting into political endorsements, why not, politicians for the most part, are just actors, & bad ones at that.

I'm more inclined towards Maury's "Who's the baby's daddy" shows. I like my daytime TV a little on the raunchy side.

Which reminds me - who's Jerry Springer endorsing?

LOL My sister says the soaps are pretty raunchy. I listen to radio more than watch daytime TV, except I do enjoy the food network.

Food network just makes me hungry. The only soap I indulge in is General Hospital. Funny, you can watch it once every six months and still keep up. Except they keep bringing back dead people, but that's soap opera 101. No one is ever really dead and babies can go upstairs for a nap and emerge 1 year later as rebellious teenagers.
