The Constitution DOES NOT give you the right to regulate firearms.

Let's be honest people. There is NO CONSTITUTIONAL AUTHORITY to regulate the sale of firearms. I'm sorry, but as much as you may hate guns, you have NO RIGHT to regulate them.

Do I have to spell it out for you?“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Either do away with the amendment or shut the hell up, because the Second Amendment protects the rights of citizens to bare arms.

And I don't know about you guys, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to live in a society where the only people allowed to use firearms are the police and the millitary.

“Germans who wish to use firearms should join the SS or the SA - ordinary citizens don't need guns, as their having guns doesn't serve the State”-Heinrich Himmler

I've never in my life seen a handgun. never mind touched or held one. I have never seen a handgun used. Never known a person who owned one, never known a person who has used one.Never known a person who has seen one fired. Never seen one for sale, never seen a factory that makes one, never seen a person who I thought might have one. I have never seen a gunshop, nevermind been in one. I have never held a bullet. I do not know anybody who knows anybody who knows anybody who has been shot.

I live in a country with 30 million people and 30 million guns. Hunting rifles. It's a major national sport, and we produce some fine Olympic medlaists. You can buy weapons and ammo at specialty stores in any city in the nation after obtaining a licence. The licence requires you to not have a criminal record, not be crazy, and to wait a bit for the processing.

What you're doing is hearign the word 'regulating' and deciding that it means banning. In the same way I could say 'a licence to drive? That's insane? You Liberals have no right to ban driving'

Driving is regulated. You need a licence. Why? Because it's dangerous.

Well, maybe there should be. I'd prefer they take the proper steps and amend the constitution rather than ignore it.

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

What part of well regulated militia did the thread starter miss?

Who makes up a millitia? People. Here, I'll highlight it for you. "A well regulated millitia being necessary for a free State, the right of the people to keep and bare arms shall not be infringed".

It may be dangerous, but if you want to regulate it, you'll have to ammend to Constitution.
