    Mission Accomplished

Of course they never said exactly what the mission was did they? The question is why the hell did we go there in the first place?

The Taliban has a permanent presence in 54% of Afghanistan and the country is in serious danger of falling into Taliban hands, according to a report by an independent thinktank with long experience in the area.

Despite tens of thousands of Nato-led troops and billions of dollars in aid poured into the country, the insurgents, driven out by the American invasion in 2001, now control "vast swaths of unchallenged territory, including rural areas, some district centres, and important road arteries", the Senlis Council says in a report released yesterday. On the basis of what it calls exclusive research, it warns that the insurgency is also exercising a "significant amount of psychological control, gaining more and more political legitimacy in the minds of the Afghan people who have a long history of shifting alliances and regime change".

If they found oil there instead of poppies do you think this would be happening?

If AQ did 911, then I think that we could have got them without a full scale invasion a lot easier, a lot cheaper. When you invade there will always be an insurgency, and that is usually fighting a loosing battle.

Yeah, I'm scratching my head as to why the heroin trade came back after the Taliban was gone. Some people in high places making money off it?

Yes, I know Gary Webb exposed this, and then was shamed by the MSM, not to mention he committed 'suicide'. Funny thing though, one man, two bullets. Hmmm... 'nother head scratcher...
