Thread: Romney Open to Incarcerating Abortionists

The presidential campaign of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney told Cybercast News Service on Wednesday that Romney does not favor punishing women who have abortions but does favor punishing abortionists, perhaps even with incarceration.

The description of Romney's abortion policy was made in a statement that Romney Communications Director Matt Rhoades issued to Cybercast News Service after Cybercast News Service asked a Romney spokesman about an answer Romney had given in a Nov. 19 interview with Human Events. Article here.......

No I am not. I hate abortion, this country allowed 50 million deaths because of this action, If it were anyone else that killed 50 million Americans I would do my best to kill them.

I am against abortion but how do you incarcerate abortionists if abortion is not illegal?

The only way Romney can do that is thru the courts and he needs to nominate Conservative judges.

Thisis more campaign talk than anything.

you are right. LOTS would have to happen to even get to that point of arresting abortionists.

Right. Now I like the idea but he's way ahead of himself.

Roe v. Wade needs to be overturned, but not so that they can make abortion illegal. I personally find abortion to be detestable, and they certainly need to limit it to first trimester only. But the only way they should completely abolish it at the federal level is to get 3/4 of the states on board (ie, amend the Consistitution). Any other way of legistating abortion at the federal level is illegal.
