majority of foreign fighters in Iraq are from U.S.-allied countries

Documents uncovered after a raid reveal that foreign fighters in Iraq are tied to countries that the United States calls allies.

"Saudi Arabia and Libya, both considered allies by the United States in its fight against terrorism, were the source of about 60 percent of the foreign fighters who came to Iraq in the past year to serve as suicide bombers or to facilitate other attacks, according to senior American military officials," Richard A. Oppel reports for the paper.

    >>Hm, kinda reminds me of 9/11, how the hijackers were financed by U.S. allies.

The article continues, "The data come largely from a trove of documents and computers discovered in September, when American forces raided a tent camp in the desert near Sinjar, close to the Syrian border. The raid’s target was an insurgent cell believed to be responsible for smuggling the vast majority of foreign fighters into Iraq."

If you add up the revolving door of reasons given for the Iraqi invasion, that makes as much sense as bombing Baghdad.

No, I'm saying there is as much reason (according to Bush's list of reasons for Iraq) to bomb Saudi Arabia as there was to bomb Iraq.

    Repressive regime. WMDs. Exporting terrorism...

As I understand it, lots of Americans would be quite pleased if we dropped the largest Nukes we have over Mecca.
