It's sad when we have to pat a guy on the back for telling the truth.

many politicians drink.

and as a politician they should know the law.

It is a shame.

It's amusing that, when outed, Bush came clean about his drinking (though binge drinking is a long way from being an alcoholic), and it was applauded. Who cares? Really, we all have pasts. I once banged two overweight 411 operators. Doesn't make me a bad guy. I've tried coke, tried it many more times to make sure I didn't like it, tried crank, smoked a lot of weed, drank until I've pissed in the corner, and I I can say out of all of that is I learned. Now, if someone was to come to me and say "I've never smoked reefer, but you should not do it because it makes you hungry", I would have a very tough time taking that guy's word as meaningful

That's what i tought when I read the title. Still, it is refreshing to hear a politician own up to a mistake without saying "but ah didn inhale"

He only says this because he is better off with it in the long run, so that doesn't make him any more "idealistic" or better than any other candidates.

It is a game. You look at humans. You see what humans vote for. You try to be what they vote for. Why waste cash to support what you stand for, when people aint gonna vote for what you stand for. You don't become politician to change the fucking world. Well, perhaps you do, but at one point when you wake up, I bet it is all about power. And you don't get power by attempting to change people, you get power trying to change yourself into what most people are looking for.
