Giuliani beats Clinton in new poll

Republican Rudy Giuliani, shown here campaigning yesterday at the NASCAR Nextel Cup Ford 400 race in Homestead, is the most popular presidential candidate in Florida, with 57 percent of voters willing to consider voting for him, according to a new Mason-Dixon poll.
In a potential matchup with Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton, Giuliani wins 50-43 percent. Republicans Fred Thompson and Mitt Romney also beat her, although their wins are within the margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points.
Clinton is the only candidate, Democrat or Republican, with higher unfavorable than favorable ratings; 45 percent of voters have an unfavorable opinion of her, while 38 percent have a favorable opinion.
The boycott of Florida by the Democratic candidates over the state's renegade early primary could come back to haunt the party, according to the poll. Statewide, 26% of independent voters and 33% of undecided voters said they would be less likely to vote for a candidate who shunned Florida before the Jan. 29 primary.
The poll of 625 voters by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research, Inc. was conducted Nov. 12-14

It should be illegal to do these pointless hypothetical match ups at this point.

I will bet even money that neither Clinton nor Giuliani will end up as the nominee.

"Thou shalt not cast lots" Rev. I'm kidding.

I believe Clinton will be the democratic nominee.
I believe Giuliani will be the republican nominee.

    Very funny, actually.

I believe Clinton will be the democratic nominee.

Okay, so I can understand the logical rationale for a Clinton nomination, but Giuiani?

Rudolph Giuliani is getting creamed, and badly, in both Iowa and in New Hampshire. If his money hasn't bought him a win in either place yet, then it really never will... Especially when you have Mike Huckabee on a shoestring budget overtaking him in Iowa.

So, my next question is this, if Giuliani can't win in either Iowa or New Hampshire, then where can he win?

My expexctation is nowhere. I don't expect him to win a single primary or caucus.

He's the primary schedule for the GOP, and who'll win:

    1/14 Iowa - Romney
    1/22 New Hampshire - Romney
    2/2 South Carolina - Huckabee
    2/5 Alabama - Huckabee
    Arizona - Romney
    Arkansas - Huckabee
    Arkansas - Huckabee
    Delaware - Romney
    Florida - Romney
    Illinois - Romney
    Michigan - Romney
    Missouri - Romney
    New Mexico - Romney
    North Carolina - Huckabee
    Oklahoma - Huckabee
    Utah - Romney
    West Virginia - Romney

That's the game. All sad (not a type-o) and done, Romney has a lead that Huckabee won't be able to close, and he'll go on to sweep California and the Pacific Northwest, and grab Ohio. Giuliani won't win a single contest.

Wow. So, what you're saying is that as long as the election is held at a Nascar race, then Rudy is a sure bet to win.

Hillary might not, but Edwards beats Giuliani...

Democratic Senator John Edwards now holds solid leads over the two leading Republican Presidential hopefuls. The most recent Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows Edwards leading former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani 49% to 41%. Edwards dominates former Senator Fred Thompson 49% to 35%.

A month ago, Edwards held a virtually identical lead over Giuliani. In between, Giuliani had closed the gap to two points in early August. This continues a trend that began in April, with Edwards consistently polling in the mid-to-high 40% range against Giuliani while the New Yorker has polled in the mid-to-low 40’s.

Giuliani started the year with the edge over Edwards. He came out on top in five Rasmussen Reports national telephone polls between November, 2006 and March of this year. Since April, seven more polls have been conducted and Giuliani has not been ahead in any of them..

Hillary is smarter and is surrounded by a stronger campaign machine than Guiliani. The only way Hillary loses is if the people become afraid of her. She's twice the man Kerry was and ten times more interesting than Gore. Of course, Guiliani is ten times the man Bush is. soo.....
