So a computer hacker hacked into the a prominent research centers website and exposed all kinds cover ups and lies and "tricks" being playewd by these research scientists.

No one’s more surprised than we are to find that the New York Times, no less, already has acknowledged the global warming oops of the year:



“Hundreds of private e-mails and documents hacked from a computer server at a British university are causing a stir among global warming skeptics, who say they show that climate scientists conspired to overstate the case for a human influence on climate change.



“The e-mails, attributed to prominent American and British climate researchers, include discussions of scientific data and whether it should be released, exchanges about how best to combat the arguments of skeptics, and casual comments — in some cases derisive — about specific people known for their skeptical views. Drafts of scientific papers and a photo collage that portrays climate skeptics on an ice floe were also among the hacked data, some of which dates back 13 years.



“In one e-mail exchange, a scientist writes of using a statistical ‘trick’ in a chart illustrating a recent sharp warming trend. In another, a scientist refers to climate skeptics as ‘idiots’.�...

Well I have my own article on where the heck is global warming ? We are asking that here in Boulder where we have broken records the past two days for the coldest days on record. We had 4 inches of snow. The high the last 2 days was below 30F and the normal is 69F, and it smashed the previous records for these days by 10F. The low was about 18F and also a record low, well below the previous record low.



..... The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t. The CERES data published in the August BAMS 09 supplement on 2008 shows there should be even more warming: but the data are surely wrong. Our observing system is inadequate.

So far the New York Times seems to be the only major paper reporting it. It will be interesting to what how this is all hushed up and made light of. Interesting also is that the NY Times does not print any of the these leters. They feel it is not relevent. Interesting indeed.

Go to OP ED, I started a thread on this, I have around 8 articles on this. It is pretty good.

So where is the PH left on this? We have letters from those at this research center talking about how to fudge the numbers to make it look like it is warming up even though they know it is really cooling down! All along the left has been ignoring the fact that all of these people are making money off of this scam. Whole careers are created from it. It is exposed by this for exactly what it is. A big fat scam.

I wanted to jump on the bandwagon, but I haven't seen the emails nor have I heard from the people who supposedly sent them. Many of the people screeching "I TOLD YOU SO!!!" are basically claiming proof of a worldwide conspiracy with one group of emails that were hacked. Did the real texts of the emails make into the press? Was this a dirty trick done by some people in an attempt to discredit a world full of scientists? I don't know. I thought I would wait till there was more information before I made up my mind.



Reports of the melting ice around the world continue to come in, so what's the truth? I don't know, but it seems premature to start screeching.

I will look to see if there is a mirror for these emails. They were posted on the net and went viral, so anyone of us shouldn't have too much trouble finding a download link. From the reports you'd be looking for a file that is close to 61 MB.



EDIT: If any of you use a torrent program, you can get these files pretty easily by a simple google search - "global warming emails download"



Torrent use isn't illegal, depending on the files you share. Would hacked emails that are viral constitute a crime if I looked at em?
