Will you guys please stop it with painting both sides with broad swatches? Jesus fucking Christ.

It's not all Bush's fault and it's not all Obama's fault.

That's the part that really sucks though, PH. They BOTH screwed up, in equal measures! Bush set up the conditions, and Obama can't fix 'em!

Jeez... makes you long for the days of the blue dress, doesn't it?

Barry is trying, I'll give him that much. I think he's surrounded himself with some financial weasels, though. Seems to me, he needs to take a more active and direct role in trying to address all this. My question is still "what happened to Austan Goolsbee"? I had high hopes for that guy, I wanted to see him step in and make some of the changes he was talking about. But it seems he's flying low, under the radar screen, so to speak. Not sure exactly what he's doing. Maybe he's still getting the lay of the land, who knows. Or, maybe he's been pushed out by the sharks like Summers. We'll see.

That was kinda the point I was trying to make. Of course I know it isn't all Bush's fault, but I'm getting a little tired of reading thread after thread and post after post blaming Obama for everything from the war in Afganistan to the fact that my kid can't remember to turn in her homework.

I do blame Bush to the extent that had he not rushed into Iraq and spent trillions of dollars there, our country may have had a bit more of a cushion when the crisis started. And, I don't really want to hear the argument about how much Obama has spent for two reasons: 1. He spent the money HERE and 2. He wouldn't have had to take such drastic measures had congress and the prior administration done what needed to be done years before he took office.
As a Democrat, I take solace in the fact that the Republicans have nominated the guy who lost the nomination to the guy who lost the presidency to the guy who is now the President.

Yep. True dat. That is in fact why I detest the Bushies so much. They had a chance to fix this stuff, and any other day, they might even have done so.

But they took their eye WAY off the ball, with all the idiotic "terrorism" stuff, they used that as an excuse to start a war FOR PROFIT, and enrich both themselves and their oil buddies, and oh yeah by the way, we'll set up a new listening post so we can keep an eye on the Mullahs.

Oh my God, such utter stupidity boggles any sane mind. And as if that weren't bad enough, what we got as a result of the Busheviks taking their eye of the ball, was complete financial chaos, and it's STILL GOING ON! We caught a guy red-handed on Friday, the FBI's got his name and I can positively guarantee you he won't have a job by the end of the week. Much as I hate to destroy someone's life like that, it is necessary, because these weasels are all over the place! There are thousands of people like this guy, tens of thousands! And they've all been bought and paid for, and they're working for SOMEONE ELSE instead of We the People.

That's what a "populist uprising" is all about, and God help us, I sure hope it works. 'Cause the alternative is too frightening to even contemplate.

It seems pretty basic to me. "A stitch in time, saves nine."

They were too distracted by their stupid wars to pay attention to what was happening.

And will you stop posting that stupid fuckin graph that says nothing. You have no idea where the economy would be without any stimulus nor if we had a different president. Obama was guessing which is all anyone could do at the time, we are in uncharted water and any prediction was simply that.

I can say the market is back to 10k and I didn't lose everything, home sales were again reported up and that ain't so bad. Noone knows where we would be if we had done things differently and your chart does not mean jack shit.
