    Government Solutions to Government Problems

    link

It is remarkable how many political "solutions" today are dealing with problems created by previous political "solutions." Three examples that come to mind immediately are the housing market crisis, the wildfires in southern California, and the water shortages in the west.

Congress and the Bush administration are currently vying with each other to come up with a solution to the housing crisis, brought on by widespread defaults on home mortgage loans -- especially defaults by those who took out risky "subprime" loans.
I've been saying this for the longest time, that government causes most of the problems we experience while trying to solve our problems. The people have lost faith in each other and have turned to government to solve everything. Now we rely on the government to protect us from the evils of government. Its insane. Its about time the Libertarian Party was taken seriously, in my opinion.

Re: Government Solutions to Government Problems

I like the Libertarian party platform, "keep gov't out of everything not constitutionally called for" is basically what I see in their platform & that's why I like it. However, unless the L candidates can get their message out someplace other than C-Span, nobody knows who they are or what they stand for. Bells & whistles seems to be what people like, it's easier to watch a parade than to research, ya know what I mean?

Re: Government Solutions to Government Problems

    It's called problem, reaction, solution.

I will give an example that makes me mad as hell.

Bush wanted voucher for education, you know allow corporations to educate your kids. Well that didn't work so the next move would be to create a problem. That problem is No Child Left Behind, it would work but hey lets not fund it. The reaction, kids are failing, we have in this state "Drop Out Factories", kids lives are being destroyed. Ah but alas, we have a solution, voucher!
