John Murtha was conducting business with FBI agents posing as Saudi intermediaries. These agents were offering big bribes to get past the immigration process with the help of Murtha. The FBI videotaped Murtha responding to an offer of $50,000, with Murtha saying, "I'm not interested... at this point. If we do business for a while, maybe I'll be interested, maybe I won't". Murtha is a scum bag.

Ideal situation - only what both can agree on will become law. We've seen what one party rule can do - and it ain't pretty!:dramaqueen:

Depends on what 'worse' means. Both have the same motivation - both tell themselves the same lies (only my way is good for the country), and both accept the same bribes. The difference is in the rhetoric. I have to admit I find the rank stupidity of the far left to be more personable than the rank meaness of the far right - but the results seem pretty much the same.hsnap:

That's not really true. The radical right continues to use a form of arguementation that is crude, distorting, and illigitimate, bordering on being profoundly undemocratic. If a counterargument is used to expose a right wing fallacy or talking point, the arguement is ridiculed to the point that it becomes a caricture and any individual from the left who even challenges the ideas of the right is lampooned mercilessly. Sorry, but the left does not even come close in its vindictiveness. There are reasons for this and too many to list, but two are very apparent to me. The fact is that the left is more tolerant of other's ideas and the result is a less organized attack system to counteract what I call the Republican rottweillers.

    Pathetic.
I don't agree with how the left fights back right now, but the right doesn't have one leg to stand on. The right started this, just like the Iraq war and now you and the rest of the right need the left to get you out of this mess.

Yes, the argument does have sort of a kindergarten spin - 'he hit me first!':therethere:
